I’m still alive

Wow, I haven’t updated in ages! Ow yeah, I’m not dead! I’ve just been a bit busy with school stuff. I even had to cut back on my gaming! When I did game, I mostly played Gunstar Future Heroes (Super Heroes outside of Europe) on Gameboy Advance (or Nintendo DS. Those screens really are much better than the one on my first generation GBA SP). That game is really awesome. It’s very short, very hard (compared to other contemporary games), has awesome graphics (for a GBA game) and it rocks! I picked it up relatively cheap for €20,- and it was worth it. It’s from Treasure, the makers of Ikaruga. I don’t know any good examples to compare it with, but you could see it as a cross between Ikaruga’s gameplay and the 2D Metroid presentation.
I’ve also been playing some Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter on Xbox360. Not really my cup of tea, but the graphics are awesome. Its ‘Colors of War’-concept sucks, though. CoW is basically an exaggerated form of HDR lighting, like seen in the Half-Life 2: Lost Coast tech demo and PGR3.
Speaking of PGR3, that’s the last game I’ve played. It just had this auto-update through Xbox Live which really improved a couple of things. Check out Major Nelson‘s blog (uwgh, still hate the word ‘blog’) if you’re interested.
I’ve got a concept on Zelda games (particularly Wind Waker) in the pipeline, but don’t expect it here soon. I promise it won’t be as long as ‘Message in a bottle’ (which I have posted on a total of three (1) different (2) blogs (3), be it very slightly altered to suit the contexts). Alright, that’s it for now. Next update will probably be around E3.
